Make money playing dfs June 2021
I am starting a new blog to help people make extra income playing dfs. Be aware, playing daily fantasy sports is not available in all states. Please check with your state for more information.
First and foremost, I am not endorsing any site or company listed in this blog. I mention them because I use them or have heard of them for research. There are several companies where you can play dfs (daily fantasy sports). The 2 major ones are Draftkings and FanDuel. You can play different sports, i.e., football, basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, hockey, mma, boxing. You can open an account with these companies and at times, they will give you money into your account to get you started.
One of the main things you need to know is yes, you can win money, but don’t expect to with thousands. Remember you are competing against alot of people and alot of those people are professionals and spend alot of money and win the top prizes.
As for me, I have won some money. The most I won was $700 in a basketball tournament a few years ago on FanDuel on a $2 bet. Last year I played on Draftkings a .25 entry fee tournament where I came in 1st place and won $100. Yes a .25 bet got me $100.
These winnings don’t come often so be prepared to lose. Only bet what you can afford to lose.
There are 2 main types of plays, cash games and gpp. Cash games are easier to win money. You have to come in the top 50 or so in a pool of like 100. Then there are gpp (guaranteed prize pool) tournaments. In gpp tournaments, the prizes are larger but you are playing against thousands of other players and those players enter hundreds of entries so it makes it more difficult to win the major cash, but if you do your research, you can win some money, maybe even one of the bigger prizes.
Research is the key. You also need to make time for your research. My favorite sport to play dfs is basketball, but it can be the most frustrating. In basketball, you have to be up to date on who is playing and who is not because it changes alot and at the last moment.
Do your research. There are free videos that get posted on youtube from different people to help you chose your players. A couple of those I use is the DFS Process and DFS 5 Pack. Now both of these groups offer paid subscriptions, which will give you more in depth research if you chose to pay for it. Many pro dfs players do pay a subscription to these services. Some of the bigger research sites are Rotogrinders and Fantasy Labs among others.
Another site I use to play dfs is Overlay DFS Sports. Their game play is different. You pick which player will get more points between 2 players with a spread. I have had alot of winning moments recently on Overlay. I have started with $20 and I have cashed out around $30 once I got to around $130. Now, I’m up to $177. I will cash out once I hit $200 and withdraw $100 and keep $100 in the account. Now I play mostly on a daily basis so my account grows.
As of this writing, the NBA is in the playoffs.
When the NFL starts up, I will start playing that. But by far, basketball (NBA) is my favorite.
One final note, you will not always win, and you will get frustrated, which is ok. And sometimes, you may have to step away for a few days or week, but don’t give up. Once you start winning, you will play more. Again the key is research and get to know the players.
